About the role

This team is building design and permitting software and keeps oversimplifying how a residential solar job actually gets to permission to operate. The roof has to be assessed for shading and structure, the utility sets its own interconnection rules, and incentives change the payback the customer signed up for. They want an installer who has run jobs from site survey through inspection.

What you will do

• Walk us through roof assessment for shading, structure, and panel layout.
• Walk us through utility interconnection applications and PTO timelines.
• Walk us through incentives, tax credits, and how they change the payback pitch.
• Walk us through permitting and inspection across different jurisdictions.

About you

• You own or manage a residential solar business
• You have designed systems and handled interconnection yourself
• Three or more years in the trade
• Comfortable being recorded on a call

Compensation

This role pays $115/hr, invoiced after each session. You are told the rate before any call and paid for your time whether or not anything else comes of it. Most engagements start with one or two calls (project plus interviews), and operators who know their numbers are invited to ongoing paid advisory.

• Location: Remote, US. Calls happen over video.
• Time commitment: Starts with 2 calls, on a schedule that works for you.
• Recording only happens with your consent, and your company details stay confidential.
