About the role

This team is building shop management and estimating software and wants to understand how work moves through an independent repair shop. A car comes in, the tech inspects it, the service writer builds an estimate off labor guides and parts, and nothing gets done until the customer approves. They want an owner who has written repair orders and managed technician efficiency across the bays.

What you will do

• Walk us through the digital inspection and how it drives the estimate.
• Walk us through labor guide times, parts margin, and building the repair order.
• Walk us through getting customer approval and selling declined work later.
• Walk us through bay scheduling and technician efficiency and productivity.

About you

• You own or manage an independent auto repair shop
• You have written estimates and managed technicians yourself
• Five or more years in the trade
• Available for scheduled calls

Compensation

This role pays $95/hr, invoiced after each session. You are told the rate before any call and paid for your time whether or not anything else comes of it. Most engagements start with one or two calls (ongoing advisory), and operators who know their numbers are invited to ongoing paid advisory.

Logistics

• Location: Remote, US. Calls happen over video.
• Time commitment: 3 to 5 hrs / month, on a schedule that works for you.
• Recording only happens with your consent, and your company details stay confidential.
